Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

Standard Accounting is operated by [ENTITY NAME] (ABN [ABN]) ("we", "us"). We provide a technical-accounting research tool for Australian Chartered Accountants. This policy explains what we collect, where it lives, and how it is handled. We are committed to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Information about third parties

Documents you upload (for example, contracts) may contain personal information about other people — counterparties, signatories, employees. We process that information only to provide the service to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right, and any consents your own privacy obligations require, to submit it.

Where your data is hosted and stored

The application and your stored content are hosted in Australia (Sydney) — application compute runs on Google Cloud Run in australia-southeast1 and stored data resides in a managed PostgreSQL database in ap-southeast-2 (Sydney). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

AI processing

To generate analysis, the content you submit is sent to our AI model provider (Anthropic) for inference. This processing runs under zero-data-retention, no-training contractual terms: your content is never used to train AI models, and it is not retained by the model provider beyond the request. Standard inference is processed in the United States. For firms with data-residency requirements, inference can be moved to in-region (Asia-Pacific) endpoints, with Australia-only processing available where the selected model supports it — contact us to scope this before onboarding.

How we use your data

We use your content solely to provide the service to you — to run the research pipeline and return your results. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your fact patterns, contracts, or memos to train models.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of service providers to run the service:

Apart from AI inference (above), your content is not disclosed overseas.

Retention & deletion

We keep your runs and documents for as long as your account is active, so you can return to parked drafts. You can delete individual runs, or all of your firm's content, from the Saved runs page at any time; you may also request deletion of your content or account by emailing hello@standardaccounting.app. Deletion from the primary store is immediate; backups expire on their normal cycle. During early access, we may remove inactive demo data periodically.

Security

Access to the service is authenticated. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to production systems is restricted. Full security and data-handling documentation is provided to early-access customers as part of onboarding. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Access & correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. If you have a privacy concern, contact us and we will work to resolve it; you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to active users.
